Slow Down and Look

You want to be everything your not
You strive to succeed and get to the top
You envy others who are higher up
You do every thing you can to catch them up
You reach a point you were aiming for
Now that your there the points moved on more
You rush and you run for all that point means
The faster you run the further it seems
You’re tiring yourself in your rush to get there
Even though you know when your there you wont really care
You’ll set your aim even higher up
You’ll go through the same process without giving up
But when will you stop or slow down at least
For life is so short you may feel you’ve been fleeced
Take a step back and look at what else life offers
Stop lowering your esteem by comparing yourself with others
Cherish all that you have and be incredibly grateful
Happiness doesn’t only lie in being successful
So in your rush through life to gain recognition and succeed
Remember the difference between what you want and what you need
