A question of morals

A question of morals a question of reason
Should they have done it, is it an act of treason
Who do we listen to, who tells us the rules?
What are the boundaries other then what’s illegal or cruel?

If one chooses to opt out of cults and religions
Who’s to tell us what’s allowed or forbidden
If every country has different laws and principles
How do we work out what’s truly ethical?

Nobody I know can answer my questions
Away from religion or any other convention
So I’ll keep on wondering what should and shouldn’t be done
And until I get some answers I’ll continue having fun
